Coach Emilio is the founder, head coach, and driving force behind Rare Breed MMA, Bloomfield’s premier mixed martial arts academy. With 20+ years of training experience and 13 years of coaching, he brings a rare combination of deep technical knowledge, real-world skill, and leadership to every class he teaches.

A Brazilian Jiu‑Jitsu Black Belt (2023) under Silverfox, and a Black Belt in MMA (2017), Coach Emilio continues to sharpen his craft under Josef Manuel of Chokelab Academy, one of the most respected minds in modern Jiu‑Jitsu. His lineage reflects the same standards he brings to Rare Breed — precision, discipline, and mastery built over decades.

His coaching philosophy is built on one core principle: fundamentals first. Students learn how to move with intention, think strategically, and build technique that holds up under pressure. Whether he’s working with beginners, hobbyists, or active competitors, Coach Emilio focuses on clean mechanics, strong positioning, and practical application that translates both inside and outside the gym.

As the head of all adult and youth programs, Coach Emilio oversees curriculum design, instructor development, and long‑term athlete progression.
